Sticky summers. Jazz Music. Water plugs flooding the street. Fun. This release was by far my most personal and soulful to date; I had done a fair amount of reading up on various charities and just basically trying to immerse myself in just about anything Harlem; I had a concept of what would old jazz musicians sound like if they tried to make drum and bass? Would the kids playing on the street influence their playing once they came out from an all night jam session? This is what Harlem Afternoon is to me; a sticky summer in the urban city. A bit of light shining throughout the darkness. Many thanks to Harlem for the inspiration.
